Nueva Andalucía is the largest area of Marbella, divided into two parts – the eastern "Valle del Golf" (Golf Valley) and the western. The eastern sector is so named due to its numerous golf courses and is considered more prestigious, as it is home to high-quality villas, luxury apartments, and luxurious townhouses. The western sector is characterized by denser development, with villas and chalets on smaller plots. The area is located on the hills, so most of the properties in Nueva Andalucia boast views of the sea, mountains, and golf courses all at once.
The local golf courses are famous throughout Europe. "Aloha Golf" is one of the last projects of the best architect of Spain in this direction Javier Arano, built in 1975. World-renowned American architect Robert Trent Jones designed two courses at Las Brisas and Los Naranjos. La Quinta Golf Club was designed by professional golfer and architect Manuel Piñero.
Nueva Andalucía is home to one of two casinos on the Costa del Sol, called the Andalucía Plaza. Bullfights take place in the Plaza del Torro, where concerts and performances are held on days off from bullfighting.
Another attraction is the beach "El Duque". It is interesting because it is essentially five semicircular bays that do not allow large waves, and the sand is dark and coarse-grained - typical of the Mediterranean. The five-star Grand Hotel Guadalpin Banus is located on the Blue Flag beach. This area of Marbella, like Puerto Banus, was developed by the famous Spanish investor and developer José Banus Masdeu in the late 1960s.
The nature here is rich and diverse – tropical vegetation in parks and squares, olive and pine groves around the city, numerous rivers running down from the mountains, Lake Las Tortugas, which owes its name to the numerous turtles living in its waters.
The area began to develop during the tourist boom, gradually turning into a cozy, comfortable area with a vibrant life. Nueva Andalucia continues to develop to this day, expanding with new residential complexes and villas.
