The Golden Mile was formed by two prestigious hotels – the Marbella Club and the Puente Romano, the latter named after the surviving fragments of an ancient Roman bridge. The Golden Mile was originally conceived as a single, vast parkland area with palaces, estates, and villas, helipads, gardens, and fountains. Today, it is the most famous and privileged area of the Costa del Sol, where real estate prices reach €50 million.
The road that runs through Marbella, Avenida Ricardo Soriano, divides the Golden Mile into two sections. The coastal section is home to the most elite residential areas: Casablanca, Petrolina, Santa Margarita, Las Torres, Puente Romano, Los Verdiales, Playa Esmeralda, Oasis, and Rio Verde. These areas are home to luxury hotels, renowned boutiques, fine dining restaurants, sports clubs, and beach clubs. On the other side of the highway are fashionable complexes with cascading apartments known as "hanging gardens" and luxury penthouses with panoramic views of the mountains and sea. The following urbanisations are located here: Alhambra del Mar, Altos de Puente Romano, Altos de Salamanca, Cascada de Camojan, La Trinidad, Las Lomas de Marbella, Lomas de Sierra Blanca, Lomas del Rey, Marbella Hill Club, Monte Paraiso, Nagüeles and Sierra Blanca.
This famous 6-kilometer stretch of coastline is inhabited by world-famous figures, kings and princes, industrial magnates and the creative elite, and members of ancient aristocratic families. Among the first to express interest in purchasing land were kings and sheikhs from the UAE, Kuwait, and other Middle Eastern countries. His Majesty's summer palace, Al Riyadh, is located here. His exclusive homes and gardens are located on a plot of 100,000 square meters.
One of the best beaches is Nagüeles, with fine golden sand. From the coast, you can see North Africa – the Moroccan El Rif mountain range and the city of Tangier.
There are numerous recreational and sporting activities – sailing, diving, water skiing, windsurfing, jet skiing, kitesurfing, yachting, famous golf resorts and beach clubs. Social events and parties are held on the Golden Mile almost daily.
The popularity of Marbella's Golden Mile is growing daily. But since this area is practically undeveloped, the capitalization of existing properties is constant and increasing every year. It's hard to imagine a more profitable real estate investment from a commercial perspective.
