For those who have grown to love Spain and travel there frequently, it makes sense to apply for a multiple-entry Schengen visa. This type of visa allows multiple crossings of the country's borders over a long period.
An additional benefit of this type of visa is that it allows travel to 30 European countries in the Schengen Agreement. It's important to follow two basic rules for using the Spanish multiple-entry visa:
1. When making your first trip, you should first visit Spain.
2. The total number of days spent in Spain must be equal to/exceed the sum of the days spent in other Schengen countries.
Under the terms of a multiple-entry visa, you can spend a total of no more than three months (90 days) in Schengen countries within each six-month period. After using up the permitted number of days, you'll have to wait until the end of the current semester. This makes it convenient for both short trips to Europe and full-fledged vacations of up to three months.
How to obtain a short-term (six months) and long-term (five years) Spanish multiple-entry visa:
- For the first option, it is sufficient to have one used Schengen visa, during which no violations were committed.
- To have a long-term multiple-entry visa approved by the Consulate, the applicant must present two or more visas, also used in accordance with current regulations.
Don't worry, a Consulate refusal to issue a multiple-entry visa does not mean a complete ban on entry; in this case, a single-entry Schengen visa is usually issued.

Submitting documents for a multiple-entry visa independently.
If you decide to apply for a Spanish visa yourself, in addition to the standard package of documents, you will need:
- a completed application stating the reason for the need for frequent and long-term visits to the Kingdom of Spain;
- valid medical insurance covering the countries of the Schengen area;
- A document proving the availability of 3,000 euros (can be converted into rubles). You can confirm the required amount with a bank statement, copies of your bank card, traveler's checks, or a savings book.
Please note: Proof of financial solvency is required for both adults and children. Without the necessary documents proving the availability of €3,000, a letter from parents confirming payment of expenses will not be accepted. You can also write a sponsorship letter and attach a certificate of employment and a bank statement or card from the sponsoring person. It is important to note that documents for multiple-entry visas to Spain for parents and their children must be submitted simultaneously. It is not possible to obtain a permit for a child whose parents have not received permission to enter the Kingdom.
- The most popular Schengen visa to Spain is the tourist type C.
- Less frequently issued are national visas of type D – for entry into the country for the purpose of long-term residence.
SPAIN VISA FOR PROPERTY OWNERS
Property owners abroad require a special entry and residence permit, allowing them to visit their home frequently and for extended periods. A Spanish homeowners' visa grants long-term residency.
Anyone who owns any real estate in the Kingdom of Spain can apply for this visa.
The initial visa is issued for one or two years. If used correctly, it can be extended for up to five years.
A multiple-entry visa for property owners allows you to stay in the country for up to three months every six months. This means you can live half your life in sunny Spain!
Naturally, this visa also allows travel to other Schengen countries. Each trip must begin with a visit to the country that issued the visa.
The number of days spent in Spain must exceed the time spent in Europe, outside Spanish territory.
Violation of these rules may result in refusal of your next visa application.
Basic package of documents for a visa to Spain for property owners.
Unlike other types of permits, a Spanish visa for homeowners does not require an invitation letter from an employer or relative. Naturally, a hotel reservation in Spain is also not required.
What you need:
1. A passport valid for the entire period of the requested visa and for 90 days after its expiration;
2. A full photocopy of a current passport;
3. The original and a full photocopy of your internal passport;
4. A completed visa application form with all questions answered.
5. Standard 3x4 or 3.5x4.5 biometric photographs;
6. Copies of airline tickets or confirmation of their reservation;
7. A duly completed employment certificate, signed by the company's manager, confirming a permanent official income (a certificate on company letterhead stating the company's details, full name, position, and monthly salary of the applicant);
8. Original and a copy of an international medical insurance policy covering treatment costs for the period specified on the tickets, as well as repatriation, if necessary;
9. Proof of financial support for daily expenses in Spain;
10. For children traveling with one parent, a notarized permit from the other parent for the child to leave Russia is required (a copy of the absent parent's passport is also required).
Special documents for a Spanish visa for property owners
In addition to the standard package, you must submit documents confirming your ownership of property in Spain:
11. A copy of the contract confirming the purchase of real estate in Spain (Escritura Pública);
12. A document called a Nota Simple confirming your current ownership of the property purchased in Spain. This is a copy of the extract from the Real Estate Registry.
The Nota Simple must be issued no earlier than three months before the visa application date, as it is valid for three months.
